What does "level of care" mean, and which level do I need?
This describes the different options available for assisted living. If more help is needed, a higher level of care will be provided. We’ll help you determine the level of care that will ensure a comfortable and safe living sitution. Ask your community for their specific details. For more information, go here to see The Ashford’s Senior Care Services.
How is the food?

What kind of care do you provide?
24/7 medical care is available to our residents for both emergency and non-emergency situations. An individualized care plan is provided so you know exactly how your loved one will be supported. Many seniors find comfort in knowing that services are available if needed.
What can I use to pay my rent?

What are your billing and payment policies?
Bills are sent out on the 25th of every month via the U.S. Postal Service or emailed. You can pay by check in the business office or you can use our online RENTCafé portal for debit cards, credit cards, and automatic bank withdrawal payments.
What is the difference between an assisted living community and a nursing home?
While an assisted living community and a nursing home are both options for senior living, they are quite different.
If your loved one needs intensive medical care, consider choosing a nursing home. Skilled nursing is for seniors who need 24-hour supervision and skilled medical services. A nursing home also serves those who need short-term rehabilitation after a hospital stay or a decline in health.
In contrast, an assisted living community is ideal if your parent needs help taking medication, cooking meals, cleaning the house, bathing, or dressing. At The Ashford, we’ll help you choose the services that best reflect your loved one’s needs. Our community empowers your parent to maintain independence and enjoy a sense of personal freedom and autonomy.
How can my parent pay for assisted living? What options do we have?
In Ohio, most seniors pay for assisted living by themselves or with help from their family. However, if your loved one has an uncertain financial future, you do have options.
Your loved one can tap into long-term care insurance, veteran’s benefits, and the Assisted Living Medicaid Waiver Program. For more information on each of your options, visit our Financial Resources page or talk to one of our team members.
Can Medicare pay for my loved one’s care?
Medicare doesn’t cover assisted living expenses. If you go to Medicare’s website, you’ll see that long-term care is not covered by Part A or Part B of Medicare coverage. However, while your loved one won’t find assistance with Medicare, he or she may be eligible for the Assisted Living Waiver through Medicaid.
Will private insurance pay for assisted living?
Unfortunately, private insurance won’t cover assisted living fees. However, be sure to visit our Financial Resources page to read about long-term care insurance.
What is your caregiving philosophy?
Great question. At The Ashford, our goal is for each resident to enjoy a primary caregiver.
From the foods Mom wants to the activities Mom enjoys, a primary caregiver helps your parent receive individualized attention and a sense of stability. It’s just one way we meet the needs of your loved one as a whole person.
No matter my parent’s needs, what services are automatically included in the monthly rent?
